Announcing Listen4Good Online+, A New Opportunity for COVID-19 Pledge Signers to Build Nonprofits’ Capacity to Listen

Fund for Shared Insight’s signature feedback initiative Listen4Good is now open to hundreds more funders and organizations ready to listen to and respond to the people they seek to serve, especially those whose voices are least heard.

Shared Insight today introduces Listen4Good Online+, a program featuring online support, targeted one-on-one coaching, and other expert guidance to move organizations through Listen4Good’s proven five-step capacity-building process that provides a simple, yet systematic and rigorous way to implement high-quality, client-focused feedback loops.

The new program is especially aimed at the nearly 770 funders that have so far signed the Council on Foundations’ COVID-19 philanthropy pledge, which includes commitments to listening and feedback. To help fulfill those promises, Shared Insight encourages pledge signers to nominate grantees and underwrite their participation at a subsidized fee of $1,000 per organization.

Since 2016, more than 450 direct-service nonprofits have participated in Listen4Good programs, driving change based on the expressed needs and preferences of well over 130,000 clients across the country.

Built on that deep experience, Listen4Good Online+ is specially designed to offer an easy-to-navigate roadmap, suite of tools, and the expert supports needed to build thoughtful and useful survey systems for repeated use with clients.

Listen4Good Online+ provides organizations unlimited access to a resource-filled interactive web app that includes step-by-step guides, video tutorials, and peer examples. Participants also receive approximately three hours of one-on-one coaching, a free premium SurveyMonkey account, and access to a peer-exchange platform, L4G Community.

Shared Insight plans to scale Listen4Good and its suite of services in the coming years, making it available to any interested organization. The cost to participate, which will vary according to the level of supports chosen, will be covered by the participating organization or a sponsoring funder. For 2020, we are offering the subsidized $1,000 rate and encouraging COVID-19 pledge signers to nominate grantees.
