Funder Perspective Video Series

Latest in Video Series: ‘Why Funders Should Support Listening’

Today we continue our 10-part series featuring funder perspectives on why high-quality listening and feedback leads to improved philanthropy, better nonprofit service delivery, and more equitable practices and outcomes. In this newest two-minute video, grantmakers talk about the importance of creating deeper connections among philanthropy, nonprofits, and the people and communities we all aim to serve.

Says Ariana Díaz De León at the Community Foundation Sonoma County: “Philanthropy is realizing that we also need to change as an institution. And part of that is bringing in the voice of the client … [so] ultimately they get to make the decisions of how they want to be helped, how they want to drive the solutions.”

Stay tuned as more videos in the series, “Funder Perspectives on Listening,” are released each week through January 2022.

Listen4Good Helps Prison Program Make the Case for Funding

Read our latest story highlighting the positive impacts of the feedback initiative Listen4Good on funders, nonprofits, and the people and communities they serve. Here, a prison program in Pennsylvania worked with clients and the client-opinion data captured by Listen4Good surveys to advocate for funding for a highly valued GED services program that had been discontinued due to lack of funding. The program is now back up and running, with a waiting list of would-be students.
