L4G Online Beta
We are thrilled to unveil Listen4Good’s new web app, a groundbreaking interactive website that will put sophisticated customer-service feedback tools in the hands of organizations that want to make meaningful improvements to programs and services based on their clients’ needs and preferences.
In preparation for the web app to be more broadly available in 2020, we are inviting nonprofits and government agencies to apply for a spot in our site-testing program, called L4G Online Beta. Our goal over the next 18 months is to experiment along with program participants, creating a sustainable, high-impact, and easy-to-use L4G product for broad use across the sector. Applications to participate are due May 10, 2019.
Selected organizations will receive a $5,000 honorarium; paid access to a premium SurveyMonkey account; and unlimited access to L4G’s web app, which features a rich array of materials — including step-by-step guides, video tutorials, and peer resources — to independently move them through a proven five-step process to design and implement their own high-quality feedback loops.

Co-Funded L4G Grant Round, 2019
Later this year, we will be inviting funders and nonprofits to participate in the next round of our co-funded L4G grant program. Over the last three years, this program has helped more than 200 nonprofits, nominated by 85 different co-funders, create client surveys and build high-quality L4G feedback loops.
To participate in this program, a nonprofit must be nominated by a current funder (existing or new). Nominating funders will contribute $15,000 to Shared Insight for each nonprofit selected to participate. Shared Insight will match the money, and grantees will receive a total of $30,000 for an 18-month grant period. Grantees will also receive a premium SurveyMonkey account; unlimited access to L4G’s web app, our new interactive website; and one-on-one support from an L4G feedback coach.
Beginning with this grant round, nominating funders will be expected to:
- Participate in a one-hour orientation call with Shared Insight
- Discuss mutual learning goals with grantees
- Hold a learning session with grantees after the organizations receive their first rounds of feedback
This co-funded grant round will be introduced in June, with applications due in September.

Our evaluation partners continue to measure and analyze our work, taking a close look at Listen4Good and, more broadly, at our impact in the feedback field. Recent reports from one of our partners, ORS Impact, include “Feedback Field Assessment Findings,” which considers the status of the feedback practice field, calling out strengths, gaps, and opportunities, and “The 2017 L4G Co-Funder Experience,” which examines results of a survey of L4G-participating funders. Please see these reports and other evaluation work here.
Another way to assess and share the impact of our work is through storytelling. Please see our latest video, which features the L4G experience at ECHOS, a Houston social-services agency, where listening and responding to clients’ perspectives, needs, and preferences improved services and transformed relationships.
